The GCON team present you Community Nights, a weekly community event for Gearheads of all skills to enjoy Gears in a more social light. Our events allow any skill level, any age and any gender of Gearhead to jump in and have an awesome time with likeminded individuals, because it isn't a competitive event in the slightest! This private match based system allows you to hang out with other Gearheads in lobbies hosted and established by us around the world at various suitable local times. It’s awesome, trust us. Don't believe us? Check the GCON Archive thread and see how popular we really are (1.7 is a shining example of this).

Not only that, but we also offer prizes! Our prize system is a raffle system that is based on turning up and playing ONE MATCH, win or lose. Simple as that, just for turning up you could win anything! Attending puts you into our sweepstakes to win prizes at the end of everyseason. You can earn up one entry per event into our sweepstakes, as each attendance gains you an entry to the end of month draw. You can play one match or twenty, as long as you attend your in the running. No skill requirements, no need to do anything amazing - just log on, join one of our hosts and enjoy yourself alongside other forum members. On top of that, by attending you gain one weekly draw entry for a Golden Weapon code! Awesome right?

So how do you get involved? All you will do is add a specially produced Gamertag and that's it - the invites will come from the hosts to you! Each week there will be a seperate thread with details on how to join, and the information on the night's special theme. Be on the look out for those threads. This thread acts as a "hub" to all those threads, with the core information stored here - for now, subscribe to this thread and you'll be able to keep up to date with all the latest on GCON Community Nights.

Here's what you can currently expect from GCON Community Nights now, and in the future. We're always working hard to ensure we create something awesome, so you can be sure to never get bored.

Current Features of our Events

GCON Community Nights include the following:

- A weekly set date and times to participate with other members in private or public, depending on your choice

- An easy to join / participate system. Add one of the gamertags listed in any of our event threads and your signed up!

- Worldwide hosts, to ensure people from America to Europe all get in on the fun and are not restricted by time zone issues. Joining hosts from other countries is encouraged, this is purely so we can cater to all time zones. We stagger the starting times so everyone starts at a time that suits their time zone.

- Prizes to win every night from our code collection! We have 10 Golden Hammerburst codes and 10 Golden Lancer codes to award every single week! Turning up and playing one full match earns you an entry for that night's prize draw!

- Prizes to win every season from our physical prize collection. Turning up and playing one full match will give you another entry into our draw for the big end of season prize giveaway. Each night you turn up gives you another entry, so the more you come to GCON, the more chance you have to win big at the end.

- We have a Live Event minisite found at <redacted until Thursday> that allows you to easily see which hosts are online and if they have space, and have the system automatically show you are looking for an invitation to the game. This is one of our easiest ways to get into a lobby for a GCON Community Night.

- We now offer HD footage from our events, thanks to Hooligunn and Simburgur. We also offer other footage from various forum members who have been willing to help capture footage from other lobbies. All these videos can now be viewed at our official Youtube account!

- We have LIVE chat rooms on our new website for you to keep in touch with our hosts. Need to report a problem with a participant? Message us there in private. Can’t get an invite to a room? Let us know there and we’ll ensure to get you in. Not only that, our hosts will have a private room to discuss issues with our staff to ensure everything runs butter smooth.

- Featured articles on the official Gears of War website aboutthe event. Be part of something recognised by the Microsoft official website for Gears!

These are plans that we can talk about, and we are actively working on. No guarentees to anything posted here, but it's likely to happen.

A FULLY FLEDGED WEBSITE
We have designed and prepared an official GCON website, the GCON HUB, to act as your information centrepiece for GCON. Remember the HUB from the trials? It’s that on a much bigger scale with constant updates and its own news section. It’s far clearer and more accessible than the old forum based hub. There will STILL be no forums based on that site, GCON discussions will be kept to the official forum.

GCON is looking for hosts from around the globe to host lobbies for us. We're looking for people with good connections, dedication and confidence to head up our lobbies - as a host of GCON, your representing us.

Thanks. Since you were going down the path of a league, I decided to take my casual approach a step further after lots of people on the Game with Devs night told me how much of a blast they'd had that night.

I'll update my post for some clarity, I hadn't noticed that. This is NOT a club, a one time event or a tournament. This is a weekly Gears of War community night for everyone to attend. You won't have to sign up, and it's not exclusive to anyone (except forum members of course xD). There will be special events on certain nights, but for the most part, it's an enjoyable and easy way to play with the people you post with every day on this forum (and win prizes whilst your at it!)

Haha. But that's the awesome thing about GCON. Your gonna be able to win prizes even if you don't think your that good at Gears.

The way I look at it, we need something around here to reward the casual for once because the hardcore have been covered with Ortana's tournaments. Of course, hardcore players can still win prizes here but they have just as much chance as anyone else. Skill doesn't really come into it.
