Default UT3 Graphical Help

I'm getting a new graphics card next week, Gigabyte 9800 GT 1gb, with HDMI support.

My specs now:
Intel Dual Core 2.8 gHz
Geforce 9500 GT 512mb(being replaced)
2.5 GB RAM(Being replaced with 4gb in december)
500 GB Disk Space
600 Watt Power Supply

How would UT3 run on that?

Alot better than your 9500gt. Compare your specs against a similar rig here: http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=680572 You may have to dig through the thread a bit.

very very similar to my setup, though my 9800gt is a 512 version.
overcocked the core2 2.8 to 3.6 quite comfortably on stock cooling.
i run the game in 1920x1080 all on hi res. though i do turn things off for competitive matches so i can see better.
you may want to up your cpu but you should be ok with the 600watt.

If that 2.8 GHz dual core cpu is a pentium D, you need to replace it or you will not see much if any improvement in performance.

Yep. UT3(at least warfare) is very CPU dependent.

I had AMD x2 6400+ with 8800GT and changed it to GTX260. Very little difference!
After I chanced CPU to Intel 8500 I got good framerates.

Funny that Toms Hardware have UT3 in CPU chart not in graphics card chart.

I get good FPS rates on low settings, usually a steady 70 fps on stock maps and 100+ on custom maps on medium settings, I think my CPU isn't the main problem. My Graphics card isn't even mid-grade.

Don't be that sure that your graphics card could be the only problem.
As some other users have already said:
UT3 requires a lot of cpu power.
You still have not answered the question how your cpu is named.
If it is an "Intel Pentium D 820 2.8 GHz Dual-Core", then you should not expect much!
Even the new graphics card will not solve fps problems.

And it would not bad to know how UT3 runs so far on your pc.
If you have slowdowns on the same places and there are no players/bots, then it sounds like a graphical limit.
However, if you have huge slowdowns while fights or if you play with many bots, then it sounds more like a cpu problem.

Of course it's a good thing that you replace the graphics card, but as said, the cpu is very important as well.

Cheers!
