Hi,
I'm trying to experiment this fantastic engine, but I don't know how to import models, carachters, etc that I have (i bought these models from turbosquid ). What are the limitation in importing meshes ??? thank you very much, Folco |

At least UT 3 editor only imports .ase files. Haven't checked if this is the case with UDK.

Go to View > Browser Windows > Content Browser
Click Import in the bottom left. Import all your texture and model files. Models will have to be exported as .ASE from your modelling program before you can import. Right click > New Material in the Content Browser. Click on your imported Texture2D in the CB. Go back to the material editor > click & drag Texture Sample into the middle. Hook it up to Diffuse. Close and save. You can click & drag the mesh into your level, then click & drag the material onto it. Or double-click the mesh in the CB, then go to LODInfo > 0 > Elements > 0 > Material - click green arrow with material selected. You can also add basic collision and lightmap/uvs settings in this window. Last edited by Stardog; 11-07-2009 at 09:06 AM. |
