NECA Lancer: If you are having problems with the batteries/sound

Here is the official letter from NECA:

During production of the Lancer, some of the plastic enclosures had a piece reversed, which had no effect on batteries made in Asia. The Asian batteries have longer contact points and made the connection each time.

On some batteries made in the US and Europe the reversed piece does not allow for the batteries to make the connection.

We have already developed a solution (a small thin metal plate, with instruction sheet) and we will gladly mail the metal plate to anyone with issues. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I would like to point out, with kudos to Epic, that this posting came in 1 hour after I emailed Epic support that the NECA support link was timing out... 1 hour response-time to a weirdo-problem like this? You guys (&/or girls -- thanks Stacey!!) rock!

don't mince words. it's ALL batteries, seeing as though there's only ONE KIND of battery that it fits. that's like saying, "some gasoline cars give off CO2. no, ALL gasoline cars do!"

sorry, wrong.
batteries may differ per country, not a lot, but they may.
even though there are standards.
( as you yourself could ahve guessed by the fact that their batteries work, and ours dont... )

Just got a message from Amazon with a link to NECA's site, info on how to request the part and a $10 gift card from Amazon for "every Lancer purchased" by me!
I also got a $10 gift card yesterday via email from Amazon for pre-ordering Gears 2!
It also looks like the Lancer is sold out and running for over $200 on Amazon currently.
Man am I glad I pre-ordered with Amazon now. I was a little annoyed with the non-working Lancer, but... meh, it's on display now and I have no need for the sound/vibration anyway.

Actually, the sound and vibration kind of annoy me. It's really a hell of a racket! I threw the batteries in there just to add some more weight to the gun. Overall, it's an awesome Gears thing to have! I love it!

I just got mine, and I just realized that the blood splatter is all random. There isn't a single Lancer that has the exact bloodsplatter on the chainsaw bayonet.
