Come on, you know the ET one is good. That image is old, but when you guys brought in the Star Wars movie theme, I was reminded of that image. Well, since you had to see the stupid image, you can now read a stupid story. I just had a little movie playing in my head where the COG are being supressed down by heavy gun fire from the Locust on a beach, and the story played out something like this.
(The following events happened 12 years after E-day)
A war torn beach comes before us. The once serene ocean is now dyed a deep red from the blood which has been shed from both sides. Entrails lie strewn out all over the sand; Locust and COG alike slip on the bloody and intestinal slime covered sand. The heavy stench of iron fills the air, and a miserable mist of ocean spray and blood lingers around the soldiers. Tracer rounds fly through the air as the Locusts send an onlsuaght of rounds towards the COG troops. The COGs, having low morale and fastly running out of ammunition, look to their commanding officer for support. Wearied and exhausted, Hoffman stares off into the distance for any sign of Alpha squad.
Hoffman: Damn it, where the hell is Alpha squad! We can't hold these grubs off much longer!
Soldier: Sir! We just recieved word that their ETA is ten minutes!
Hoffman: We don't have ten minutes soldier!
Carmine: Look! What's that out in the water?
Hoffman looks to his immediate right and sees something off in the horizon steadily moving towards the beach. A faint blue glow can be seen coming through the thick air.
Hoffman: I don't believe what I'm seeing. Is that a man riding a shark! Carmine, steady your aim and take fire if the person is a hostile.
Suddenly, a great white shark lunges onto the beach. Sand is stirred up into the air, and the COGs look at the disturbed area with wonder. The sand clears and a man emerges with a glowing sabre; the COGs have never witnessed anything like this before.
Carmine: Look sir! A new hope! (wink wink)
Hoffman: Well all be damned. Will somebody get the man a Lancer!
Clifford Bleszinski: That won't be needed.
Silent and emotionless, Clifford takes his vibrant and blue sabre, and beheads a Locust enemy with blinding speed. He continues to break through the Locust ranks, and cuts down any Locust that stands in his way. His heart and mind is set on one Locust, General RAAM.
General RAAM can sense the mans blood lust for him; RAAM breaks rank and unhurriedly strides towards the man weilding the glowing blade. RAAM pulls out his own jagged and keen blade. His sword and hand marry, and become an object of lethality. RAAM is ready.
Clifford cuts down the final Locust standing in the way of RAAM. With adrenaline and excitement flowing through his veins, Clifford stares down General RAAM. RAAM flashes the menacing blade at Clifford, but Clifford stands unstirred. Without a moment's notice, Clifford jumps into the air and prepares to cut RAAM down with one strike. ***POP
A Locust sniper delicately pulls the trigger just in time to save RAAM from certain death. Clifford's lifeless and headless body lies in the sand next to RAAM. RAAM lets out a soul wrenching roar, and then glares at the COG troops. Despite many years of being hardened by war, even Hoffman feels a shiver run down his spine.
Carmine: What a courageous man. I could only hope to die in such a glorious manner. (Close, but not so glorious)
Hoffman: I told the lily licker to take a Lancer! Men! Stop standing there, and fight!
Hoffman, now with a new found courage, leads the charge against the Locust enemy. The battle wages on for many hours with heavy losses on both sides, and the deciding factor of the battle final comes to help the COG troops, the Alpha squad. RAAM and the remaining Locusts, snarling from defeat, retreat off into the darkness as the sun sets. The COG are victorious, at least for now.
Many stories of the warrior who wielded the blue sabre spread through the COG troops. Was the man courageous and brave for his actions, or was he just stupid and died because of his blind and reckless attack? Many soldiers have their own opinions of the man, but one fact remains: the lily licker should have used a Lancer.
There, now you can see what I saw in my mind as soon as I read the sentence
Gears of War: A New Hope; Cliffy being the new hope, which only lasts a few seconds. In total ,this little mind-film only lasts for about 15 seconds, and it gave me a laugh for a brief moment because of the ridiculousness when I first thought of it. I did not want to share what was going through my head, because some things that I think up can easily lower someone's IQ, but you made me when you said my photos were stupid; I needed you to see where I was coming from. With the amount of cliche sayings, settings, events, the lameness in my character choices, the ignorance of time, space, and reality (how did Cliffy get in the Gears universe, how did he ride a great white, and where the hell did he get a lightsabre), and the total lack of "making sense", you can now see why I do not write fan fics, and why I stick with silly drawings and CG art.
Edit:
Back on topic. I wonder if the Locusts have the rock worms and corpsers hollow out the ground beneath the cities, and then the Locusts use some kind of small trigger to cause the whole city to collapse. Or, the Locusts found a very effective use with imulsion, and created some kind of massive explosion device. <--- the only problem is that a big explosive device does not fit with the theme of the Locusts using natural "machines" to cause devastation. I guess we will find out in another 6 months.
And I am sorry for flooding your thread with this post; I did not think that the story was going to turn out as long as it did.
